I hate seeing all the women presenting this change as such progress and something to celebrate. I’m pretty angry that my shoulders spent 51 years being shamed.
You nailed my feelings. It’s honestly so rage-inducing. I can’t even stand to see those influencers profit off of promoting the new garments and garment-friendly outfits to their Mormon followers. My stomach feels sick just typing this. Thank you for writing about it.
Men too! Any LDS person who has gone through the Temple makes a covenant to wear the sacred garment (underwear) daily under all their clothes. To not wear it means to not keep your sacred covenants. It’s a big big source of control and shame.

So much shame for shoulders that are now ok?! Your anger is valid.

Showing up at endowment ceremonies with bare shoulders? 😬 Kolob is going to go supernova.
haha, that’s so true! I guess they’ll still have to wear those chemises underneath.
I’m not even going to lie I read that as “the new LSD garment….” And was majorly intrigued and confused.
That’s a garment I might get behind… 😆
Well if you’re looking for a new cult, they’re out there…..🤭
I guess a thong is next on the horizon
Maybe!
I also post my thoughts as an ex-mo. I feel like you’d relate to my recent post, My question for feminist Mormons.
Welcome! So glad we could find each other on Substack! I’ll have to take a look. Thanks
Wait? What? LDS controls what underwear women can wear???
Haha I can’t tell if you’re asking genuinely or with knowing sarcasm!? But yes they certainly do lol
Genuinely shocked
